Drop In Testing Ending HIV Culture Artcile

Free HIV test drop-in clinic! No appointment needed.

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation (NZAF) offers a drop-in testing clinic every Wednesday and Saturday in Auckland and Wellington, and every Wednesday in Christchurch. No appointment is needed - just walk in. Appointments for this free, confidential HIV and syphilis test are approximately 15-20 minutes.

A rapid HIV test involves a simple finger prick to draw blood and is facilitated by trained specialists who are there to support you through the process.

STI testing is also available. Please note that if you have symptoms of an STI, or someone you've had sex with has told you that they have an STI, we are unable to test you and cannot diagnose STIs or provide treatment at our Drop-in service. Please go directly to a sexual health clinic, a medical clinic or your GP for diagnosis and treatment.

Triaging will be required to check if you are eligible to test with us on the day – please understand that if we’re unable to test you, it’s not because we don’t want to help. If you would still like to get tested you can still speak with your GP/medical centre/family doctor or find other options with our test booking tool.
