Aotearoa is at COVID-19 Alert Level 2 (with Auckland and Waikato at Level 3) - get more info on how this affects our services

Please test for HIV and other STIs before having sex outside your bubbles in level 2. We can break the chain of transmission for more than one epidemic with this lockdown.

If you're eligible for PrEP and not currently on PrEP then you can get an initial Virtual PrEP consultation for only $19.95.

To help even more people to safely access PrEP in New Zealand, we've partnered with MedOnline to provide a way to talk to a doctor about PrEP without even leaving the house.

The virtual clinic is a video call where a GP will guide you through the process of getting a PrEP prescription. As well as talking about the important stuff you need to know when you're on PrEP.

Answer the questions below to find out if you might be eligible.

Please note that the results of this page are a good indication of your eligibility, but they’re not final – you’ll need to have a discussion with your prescribing doctor.

Eligible

From the information you’ve given, it is likely you are eligible for funded virtual PrEP in New Zealand.

Not Eligible

You are not currently eligible for PHARMAC-funded PrEP. That doesn’t mean your journey’s over - but it does mean it could, unfortunately, be more expensive. Head to our PrEP page to find out more about self-funding PrEP and if you are an international student or if money is an issue right now - click here to see if we can help.

Not Eligible

It’s great you’re already on PrEP. You are not eligible for this free initial PrEP consultation. But, if you are still interested in online PrEP appointments, you might want to look into MedOnline.
